There are many ways to get to Aberdeen and to get around once you are there: Planes, Trains, Taxis and Bus.
Planes
For anyone flying up from London or other cities, the closest airport is, unsurprisingly, Aberdeen airport. You can fly with BMI, British Airways or FlyBe (from Heathrow or Gatwick) or Easyjet (from Luton). It's advisable to book flights as far in advance as possible to get the best prices. Aberdeen airport has a taxi rank directly outside the exit or a shuttle bus, which will take you into the centre of Aberdeen.
Trains
Aberdeen train station is right in the centre of Aberdeen and is well served by trains from all over the UK. They do take a while to get there however, as it seems that there's no such thing as a fast train once you are north of Glasgow or Edinburgh. The trainline, ScotRail or National Express East Coast websites should give you info about timetables and tickets.
For those travelling from London another option is the Caledonian Sleeper which goes from Euston to Aberdeen overnight.
Taxis
For anyone wishing to take a taxi during their stay in Aberdeen, perhaps from their hotel to Norwood Hall or to visit one of Aberdeen's many attractions here are various firms with easy to remember numbers:
- ABC Taxis
- 01224 696969
- Central Taxis
- 01224 898989
- City Taxis
- 01224 494949
Bus
We are planning on hiring a mini bus to pick people up from the city centre to go to Norwood Hall on Sunday in time for the ceremony at 2pm. We’re also planning on having the bus make a return trip at the end of the night. If you would like a seat on the bus please indicate on your RSVP to help us with the seat numbers.
Once we know the numbers and have organised the bus we’ll update this page with pick up points and a timetable closer to the time.
